In this class, we will be exploring meditations and processes that I have developed and tested through my work with Biofeedback and Neurofeedback. We will be focusing on the heart and heart coherence as well as different brainwave states from Neurofeedback.
Heart Coherence can be measured through Heart Rate Variability or HRV for short. HRV is one of the best measures of mental, emotional and physiological resilience and low HRV is actually an early indicator that some type of pathology is developing in one of those areas. High HRV is associated with peace of mind, the ability to handle stress more easily and to function at the peak of our abilities.
The different brain wave patterns influence the state of consciousness based on their proportions and amplitude. I like to think of them as gears in a car or bicycle. Each serves some important functions and it's being able to have access to all of them and shift easily that is most important.
In this class we will be focusing on HRV and coherence for the first hour and for the second hour we will be working with different brain wave patterns that create different states of consciousness.
We will cover:
-What is HRV and how is it measured
-HRV, stress, coherence and flexibility
-The wave patterns of coherence vs incoherence
-The qualities associated the the different brain waves: Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta, Gamma
-Techniques to increase or reduce the different brainwave types.
We will also be doing two processes that I have created and tested using Biofeedback and Neurofeedback
In part 1 we will be doing a process that uses a combination of mudra, sound, imagery and intent to increase the Heart Brain Connection
In part 2 we will do a process to reduce Beta Brain waves (associated with mental chatter) and increase Alpha waves (joy and ease) as well as Gama waves (whole brain thinking, creative leaps, feeling blessed)
